The
mentor system
Upon request, new staff members and fellows who have not had a previous contract with CERN are allocated a mentor whose task it is to help them integrate in CERN and the surrounding area.
These mentors are chosen on the basis of their date of entry into CERN and their cultural and geographic origin. Our intention is to provide new arrivals with someone who has the largest number of things in common with them so they can best answer the questions that might be worrying them about their integration within CERN and the local area.
